After a long, dark winter, the sun is shining and it’s time for the penguins to celebrate by fishing. To better observe the waters, penguins build tall pyramids. The more penguins in the pyramid, the better, but it’s not that simple.
In Penguin Party, players collectively build a pyramid of penguins, trying to empty their hands of cards as they go. The cards are dealt as evenly as possible, with the last card of a five-player game being the first card at the base of the pyramid. In each turn, you can either play a card to the left or right of the base of the pyramid, which cannot be more than eight cards wide, or play a card at a higher level of the pyramid, provided that it is supported by two penguins, At least one of which is the same suit as the card being played.
If you cannot play a card, discard your hand face down and take as many penalty markers as cards you did not play. If you empty your hand, you can return two penalty markers previously recovered from the reserve.
Play as many turns as the number of players, each player starting a turn. The one with the least penalty scores at the end of the game wins!
